Actor Karthi was last seen on screen in the movie Thambi, and is currently acting in a number of movies including the Magnum Opus Ponniyin Selvan. Now, the actor's next movie has locked its release date.

Karthi's next release will be Sulthan directed by Remo fame Bakkiyaraj Kannan and this movie co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Napoleon, Lal, Harish Perady and Yogi Babu was announced as an April 2 release. However due to the second wave of pandemic there have been rumours of a release postponement.

Now producer SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures has made an official clarification on Sulthan release, confirming that despite pandemic the movie will release on April 2 itself and has requested people to follow safety measures, wear masks and come to theatres. He has tweeted "Many of our friends are asking whether we are releasing #Sulthan on 2nd April concerning Covid scenario. So far there is no change in that decision. We are sticking to the date! So pls Wear Mask, take proper precautions & wait to enjoy the max fun on screen????#JaiSulthan".
