Actor Karthi's Sultan, which is directed by Remo director Bakkiyaraj Kannan and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and many others was being shot in Dindigul Malaikottai, and recently during the shoot, several religious and political groups came in and disrupted the shooting.

The issues were created as they thought that the movie was about Tipu Sultan. Now the producer Dream Warrior Pictures has issued a clarification on the movie. The team has said in the press note that Sultan has nothing to do with Tipu Sultan and is not a historical movie.

The press note further read, it has become common these days for several individuals and political groups to attack films for their own promotions and selfish interests, and there is a censor board to decide what a film must show and not show, and only the creators have the rights to decide what to present in the film. This is the freedom given by our country, and we condemn anyone who try to impact this freedom, and anyone who tries to give caste or religious colors to national leaders and historical figures and degrade them, said the production house.
