Karthi is acting in his brother Suriya's 2D Entertainment production for the first time for 'Kadaikutty Singam' directed by Pandiraj.  Sayyeshaa, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Arthana are the three female leads while Sathyaraj and Banupriya play the hero's parents.  Many are of the opinion that Suriya's 'Singam' influenced the title of the film but it has been revealed that Karthi plays the youngest brother of five sisters.  The sisters are played by Mounika, Yuvarani, Deepa, Jeevitha and Indhumathi.

'Kadaikutty Singam' is the story of a young farmer played by Karthi who is proud of his roots and flaunts it everywhere including his vehicle and other props in the film.  The team is confident that many youngsters would follow suit and even quit their IT jobs to take up farming after the release of the film.  According to the team after listening to the script producer Suriya was excited that its been a long time since such a beautiful and clean family entertainer has hit the screens in Tamil.
