Karthi one of the most charismatic stars of Kollywood has a number of interesting projects in the pipeline. His next release will be 'Viruman' directed by Muthaiya on August 31 followed by Mani Ratnam's epic multistarrer 'Ponniyin Selvan aka 'PS-1' on September 30th.

Karthi is currently shooting for 'Sardar' in which he is playing dual roles and the team has just completed major schedule in Azerbaijan and Georgia. The surprising info is that the ten day schedule had only Bollywood actor Chunky Pandey's solo portions. He is playing the villain and since the director wanted to establish him as a sauve international businessman it was decided to shoot in live exotic buildings and locales. Hence one of the sequences was shot in the Parliament building of Azerbaijan. A whopping rupees four crores has been spent for this portion alone.

'Sardar' directed by P.S Mithran of 'Irumbu Thirai' and 'Hero' fame is produced by Prince Pictures with G.V. Prakash Kumar scoring the music, George C Williams handling the camera and Ruben the editing. The starcast includes Karthi, Rajisha Vijayan, Raashi Khanna, Muniskanth, Rithvik , Murali Sharma, Ilavarasu and Laila making a comeback after several years.
