Actor Karthi's 'Theeran Adhikaram Ondru' directed by H.Vonoth of 'Sathurangavettai' fame has taken a tremendous opening in its first weekend. Now at the end of second weekend, the film's collections has collected over Rs.4 crores in Chennai itself. 

In the weekend between November 24 to 26, 'Theeran was retained in 20 screens across Chennai and it has had 237 shows screened with 90% occupancy on an average. The film's collection now  Rs.4,31,01,254.

'Theeran' is based on the true incident of a police officer's accomplished mission of nabbing a group of dacoits who were responsible for robbery and murder of many people including some MLAs.  

Upon release the film was much appreciated fro the writer-director's research for the authentic portrayal of the background of the dacoits as well as the police investigation sequences.
