Actor Karthi is currently busy shooting for director Pandiraj's 'Kadaikutty Singam'. His next film, which will be his 17th as an actor will be a mega budget project. 

It has been officially confirmed that 'Karthi 17' will be produced by S.Lakshman Kumar of Prince Pictures and presented by Reliance Entertainment. Prince Pictures have earlier produced Suriya starrer blockbuster 'Singam 2'. 

 Rajath Ravishankar makes his directorial debut with this film, and shall pen story, screenplay and dialogues. He is a former associate / Co Director of well established filmmakers Saravanan, R. Kannan and Bollywood’s Anurag Kashyap.

Rakul Preet Singh will play the female lead in this film and it will be her second with Karthi after the critically acclaimed super hit 'Theeran Adhikaram Ondru'.  Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, R.J. Vignesh, Amrutha, Renuka and others are part of the supporting cast. Navarasa Nayagan Karthik makes a special guest appearance. 

Harris Jayaraj will score music for the film wile the technical crew includes R.Velraj for Cinematography while Ruben will be the Editor. Anbavari is incharge of stunt choreography while Jayashri Narayan will take care of production design. 

The shooting of "#Karthi17" is scheduled to commence on March 8th  in Chennai followed by 15 days schedule in European countries and then in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Himalayan regions.
