Parutthi Veeran was one of the biggest hits of recent years in Tamil Nadu. The film was a debut of Karthi, while it took Priyamani's career to a new high. The super hit rustic entertainer was played for one year in some centres, while in others it celebrated Silver Jubilee. R Tangaprabhakaran is now bringing the film to the Telugu audience as Malligadu.

Boasting of good performances and a tight screenplay, Malligadu has in store a National Award-winning acting output by Priyamani. Karthi is upbeat about the film's release in Telugu, because he hopes that it will endear him to the audience here even more than Na Peru Shiva did.

"The film is my career best in many senses. I hope the film will be a big hit in Telugu as well. I feel so great about being a part of the film", Priyamani averred.

Besides its story and performances, the music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is one of his career bests. (Our own SS Rajamouli was surprised to listen to the songs and marvelled at Raja's midas touch.)

Vennelakanti and son Sashank have written the songs and dialogues. The film is set to released on March 2.
