Karthi is drenching in the showers of praises that he has received for his charming performance as Vanthiyathevan in 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' directed by Mani Ratnam and costarring Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi and Trisha among others.

Karthi fans are in for a grand Diwali treat as his next movie 'Sardar' is releasing on October 21st. G.V. Prakash Kumar the music composer for the film has revealed that Karthi has sung the first song "Yerumayileri" a rural folk number that is an ode to our classical theatre performances. The busy hero has already sung songs in 'Saguni', 'Biryani', 'Party' and most recently in 'Kanam/Oke Oka Jeevitham'.

'Sardar' directed by P.S. Mithran is produced by Prince Pictures with George C Williams and Ruben handling the camera and the editing respectively. The starcast includes Karthi in a dual role as Kathiravan IPS and Sardar Sakthi, Raashii Khanna,
Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Pandey, Laila, Murali Sharma, Munishkanth, Sahana Vasudevan, Ilavarasu, Rithvik and Yugi Sethu.
