‘Paiyaa’ directed by N. Lingusamy and starring the dashing duo Karthi and Tamannaah that released in 2010 was not only a blockbuster commercial hit but also has attained a cult status. Fans especially celebrated the romantic road thriller genre with some memorable songs and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
A few months back there were reports that Lingusamy is in the process of making ‘Paiyaa 2’ with Arya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles with Studio Green which produced the original bankrolling the project.
Now it is said that Karthi himself has agreed to act in the lead role in ‘Paiyaa 2’ and the project will be his 28th film. Tamannaah might also reprise her role according to sources.
The busy hero recently delivered back to back blockbuster hits ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’, ‘Viruman’, ‘Sardar’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’. His next film ‘Japan’ directed by Raju Murugan is also hot in the trade while he is currently acting in Nalan Kumarasamy’s untitled film and will also star in a new movie directed by ’96’ fame Prem in which Arvind Swamy is playing the chief antagonist.
