Karthi, one of the leading heroes of Tamil cinema is also one of the most bankable. After starring in three back to back blockbusters 'Viruman', 'Ponniyin Selvan' and 'Sardar' last year, he has an super intersting lineup this year too.

Karthi is currently shooting for 'Japan' directed by Raju Murugan in which Anu Emmanuel plays his pair. He will move on to a new movie directed by Nalan Kumaraswamy from March.

We reported to you that Karthi has okayed a new film to be directed by Premkumar who debuted with the cult classic romantic movie '96' in 2018. The film to be produced by Suriya under the banner 2D Entertainment is reportedly titled 'Jallikattu' and will have bull fight as the core theme. The project will go on floors in mid 2023 and more official updates are expected in the coming months.

Karthi's next release is Mani Ratnam's epic 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' on April 28th. The film costarring Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi and Trisha has huge expectations. The original film released in 2022 went on to become the biggest grosser ever in Tamil cinema history crossing rupees five hundred crores worldwide apart from the digital and satellite rights.
