Karthi has made a name for himself in Kollywood with his versatility and skilled performances. The actor has several promising releases lined up in his pipeline. It seems like Karthi is going to have a terrific run at the box office by the second half of the year.

We all know that Karthi's upcoming rural entertainer will be released on August 31. Then, Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan 1', starring Karthi as Vandhiyathevan, is slated to release worldwide on September 30. Now, the latest is that Karthi's 'Sardar' is announced to hit the screens on Diwali.

Karthi and his fans are going to have back to back films in different genres to end the year on a high note. 'Sardar' is touted to be an espionage thriller directed by PS Mithran. The makers launched a new release date poster featuring Karthi as a cop. He will also be seen as an old man in disguise in the upcoming movie.

The ensemble cast of the film also includes Rashi Khanna, Simran, Rajisha Vijayan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu and Murali Sharma. GV Prakash Kumar scores the music for the film while George C. Williams serves as the cinematographer and editing is taken care of by Ruben. 'Sardar' is expected to clash with Ajith's 'AK61' this Diwali.
