Karthi who gave hattrick blockbuster movies in 2022 seems to be in a similar mood for the new year as well judging by his lineup of projects. He is currently shooting for Raju Murugan's 'Japan' which has caught the attention of fans for his quirky getups. Next he will move on to a newage thriller directed by Nalan Kumaraswamy of 'Soodhu Kavvum' fame. There is also 'Kaithi 2' in the pipeline which will go on floors after Lokesh Kangaraj completed Vijay's 'Thalapathy 67'.

Now the hot news has broken out that Karthi has given his nod to another project to be directed by Premkumar. The cinematographer turned director's intense love story '96' starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha released in 2018. Critics and fans were undivided in giving their two thumbs up for the film which turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters in the romance genre in recent times. The film will be produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment and the rest of the cast and crew details will be out along with the official announcement soon.

Karthi's next release is Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' on April 28th. The film costars Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha Krishnan among an ensemble cast of A list actors.
