As Indiaglitz had reported earlier 'Thozha' has emerged as a hat-trick box office success for actor Karthi after the super hit 'Madras' and 'Komban'.

Directed by Vamsi Paidipally as 'Thozha' in Tamil and 'Oopiri' in Telugu, the film dealt with the relationship between a quadriplegic millionaire and an accused coming out on parole played by Nagarjuna and Karthi respectively. Tamannah has played the female lead.

Both the Tamil and Telugu versions that released on Friday last, have stuck the right chord with audience as well as critics. After collecting more than Rs.8 crores in Tamil Nadu Box office alone in its first weekend, the film has been running to packed houses even in the weekdays that followed.

An official press statement from the makers confirms that the film has grossed Rs. 28 crores in Indian Box office in its first three days of release and $904,000 from in USA box office where it was screened in 163 screens.

The Tamil-Telugu bilingual has been produced by PVP Cinemas. The Hindi remake rights have been acquired by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga. The film is actually an Indian adaptation of the French Super hit flick 'The Intouchables'.
