After being seen lastly in the romantic entertainer Dev, actor Karthi is getting ready for a completely different movie which will present him in a new avatar, and his next release is Kaithi, directed by Maanagaram director Lokesh Kanagaraj who is also set to direct Vijay's next movie.

Kaithi is a movie that revolves around few prisoners and a jailbreak incident happening in a night, and also stars Vatsan, Kanna, Dheena and Narain, and has music by Sam CS. The movie was shot completely in nights and the team shot the movie in 62 nights reportedly.

Recently it was made official that Kaithi will be releasing worldwide in the month of October, and now it has been officially announced that Kaithi will be released this Diwali. Vijay's Bigil is also expected to release thsi Diwali. Kaithi is produced by Dream Warrior Pictures SR Prabhu, and has cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Philomin Raj.
