Karthi recently delivered a magnificent performance as Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan, which became the fan-favourite character in director Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan 2'. Now, the actor is on to his next project, 'Japan', directed by Raju Murugan.
Currently, the shooting of Japan is progressing briskly. Earlier, it was said that the makers planned to release the movie on Diwali. But now, Karthik Subbaraj's 'Jigarthanda Double X' and Sivakarthikeyan's 'Ayalaan' are confirmed for the Diwali race. Dhanush's magnum opus 'Captain Miller' is most likely to make its debut on Diwali as well.
The latest reports suggest that there is a change in the release date of Karthi's Japan owing to the other three biggies. Sources say that the team has decided to advance their film release. Japan will most probably hit the screens worldwide on September mid during the Vinayagar Chathurthi holidays. We have to wait for an official confirmation about the same.
Japan marks the 25th film in Karthi's career, produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. Anu Emmanuel plays the female lead in this heist thriller which has Karthi in dual roles. The shooting of the movie is expected to be wrapped up by June. The technical team includes GV Prakash as the composer, Ravi Varman as the DOP and Philomin Raj as the editor.
