Actor Karthi, who is currently riding the high from successful outings like Ponniyin Selvan - 1 and Sardar, will star in a film titled Japan. The film, which would be Karthi’s 25th, was launched today by producers Dream Warrior Pictures.

The first look poster of Karthi’s next film Japan was released recently. The poster features Karthi in a funky avatar suggesting his character may have a fascination for luxury. Details of the plot are currently kept under wraps, however, the poster of the film suggests that Karthi will star in the titular role named Japan.

Now the latest update about this movie is that the team has successfully completed the first schedule of 'Japan' and the team has gone into a scheduled break. The next schedule will commence after a week in Chennai and scenes involving the lead stars of the film are expected to be filmed during the second schedule.

Karthi will be seen in a character of dual shade in the heist thriller, while Anu Immanuel plays the leading lady. Director Vijay Milton plays an important role, while GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music. 'Japan' first look was launched a few weeks back and it promised an interesting film ahead. The film will have a pan-Indian release in the second half of 2023.
