Karthi is happy that 'Kaithi' ('Khaidi' in Telugu) has grossed Rs 50 Cr worldwide in eight days. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film clashed with Vijay's 'Bigil' for Diwali and slowly went on to become a big hit.
Taking to Twitter, the 'Oopiri' and 'Chinababu' actor made an emotional post: "I don't know if I can thank you all for the love and appreciation you have given Kaithi. We set out to present an exciting story and our team put our hearts into it. But we never expected such an overwhelming response. I take a big bow with a heartful of gratitude. Thank you and love you all," Karthi wrote.
Further, he added: "My sincere thanks to friends from the Press and Media fraternity for their Words of Appreciation and Best Wishes! To my brothers and sisters who have given me so much love and stayed with me in all the ups and downs, I’ll keep working hard to make you feel proud! Dilli will be back for you!"
Karthi's next release is his untitled film directed by Jeethu Joseph and has Jyothika playing his sister. He is also shooting for 'Sultan', directed by Bhagyaraj Kannan. Rashmika Mandana plays his love interest in this one.
