'Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru', released as 'Khakee' in Telugu, hit the screens on November 17. The news is that the cop actioner has grossed as much as Rs. 60 Cr in 25 days in both the versions, across the world.

The Indian gross is Rs. 50 Cr, which makes it one of the big hits of the year.

Also starring Rakul Preet Singh and Abhimanyu Singh, this Karthi-starrer is quite refreshing to watch with its slice-of-life yet cinematically crazy love story in an era when mobile phones were not popular.

"Our film is an edge-of-the-seat crime thriller, based on real incidents that took place between 1995-2005 and it is all about how some cops from Tamil Nadu nab a bunch of ruthless dacoits from Rajasthan despite facing many challenges and even personal losses," the makers say.
