The Guntur Subbaiah Pillai Girls Higher Secondary school in T. Nagar, Chennai did not have proper toilet facilities and the students were put to great discomfort due to it.

When this came to the notice of actor Karthi he immediately took steps to build new toilets for the school and the grateful staff and students met the popular actor and presented him with a bouquet for his kind gesture.
