Makers trim Karthi's 'Meiyazhagan' runtime after audience response! - Full details

Karthi and Arvind Swamyâs Meiyazhagan, which hit cinemas last Friday, has been receiving rave reviews from both critics and audiences. Directed by Premkumar, the film is a light emotional drama that tells the story of a man who rediscovers his lost self after an unexpected encounter with a stranger.
However, despite the overwhelming praise, some viewers noted that the filmâs 3-hour runtime felt excessive, with parts of the second half dragging. In response, the makers have taken swift action by trimming 18 minutes from Meiyazhagan, reducing the runtime to a more manageable 2 hours and 40 minutes. The new version will be screened in theatres today.
