In the recent press meet for 'Kaashmora' ahead of the multiple-genre ambitious film's grand Diwali release, the film's lead actor Karthi and director Gokul revealed some interesting information about the film which also serves as what and what not should we expect from the film.
Karthi revealed that he does not have any love angle in the film. Both Nayanthara and Sridivya play the main female characters and neither play his love interest in the film.
0% Love
Karthi said Nayan is amused by the character as she is getting to play a queen like character that involves sword fights for the first time in her career. Her character will be powerful despite coming for just 30 minutes in the film.
The 'Thozha' actor also appreciated Sridivya for accepting the role based on its merits though it does not have a love angle with the hero which is one of the main criteria that generally heroines look for in a role offered to them.
60% comedy
Director Gokul's previous super hit 'Idharkuthaney Aasaipattai Balakumara' placed him in the list of directors who are specialists in delivering hilarious comedy flicks. The trailer of 'Kaashmora' did not show any traces of comedy except a blink you will miss appearance of Vivekh who plays the Karthi's father in the film.
But both Karthi and Gokul assured that 60% of the film has been dedicated for comedy and fans of the the director will not be disappointed at all.
Gokul said he deliberately avoided revealing any comedy portion of the film as he wanted to retain them completely as a surprise treat for Diwali. He also said Vivekh who is popular for dialogue-oriented comedy, will have very less dialogues in the film but he will make the audience laugh out of the heart throughout the film.
Can we expect 'Baahubali' level?
The film has fantasy-historical portions and comparisons with the biggest blockbuster 'Baahubali' are bound to arise. The lead actor as well as the director smartly countered this comparison.
Both Gokul and Karthi categorically stated that their film can not and should not be compared with 'Baahubali'. While 'Baahubali' was an out and out historical fantasy, in 'Kaashmora' those portions come only for half an hour. Also the budget of the former is too bigger than the latter.
However the team has worked and given the best with the available resources. This will be a complete and wholesome entertainer. Tremendous hard work has been dedicated to bring out the Fantasy portions and VFX work flawlessly.
