Karthi's upcoming film 'Viruman' is gearing up for an earlier release. The rural entertainer, directed by Muthaiah and produced by Suriya & Jyothika's 2D Entertainment, marks the debut of ace director Shankar's daughter Aditi. The shooting is over and the post-production works are underway.

It was earlier announced that Viruman will be released on August 31. Now, there is officially a change in the movie's release date. Last night, the makers took to social media to announce that Viruman will hit the screens on August 12 itself. Revealing brand-new posters, the production house wrote, "All set to take the screens by storm! #Viruman in theatres from August 12th!" (sic).

Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored music for the film which also stars Rajkiran, Soori, Prakash Raj and others in supporting roles. The story is said to be built around a father-son relationship.
