Director Mani Ratnam's 'Kaatru Veliyidai' will be hitting the screens this Friday (April 7) and the Karthi-Aditi Rao Hydari starrer comes with a clean U certificate.
Now it has been revealed that the film's running time will be Two hours and 20 mins.
Films less than two hours 30 minutes have become the order of the day in the recent years in Kollywood. Many small budget films are being made with a running time of two hours or less than that while most other films come within the bracket of Two to two and a half hours. Films with a running time more than that have become a far and few.
Mani Ratnam's previous film 'O Kadhal Kanmani' ran for Two hours and 19 minutes and now 'Kaatru Veliyidai' will be Two hours and 20 minutes.
Customising to the changes in trends and preferences of the audience is one major reason why Mani Ratnam who debuted in 1983, still remains as the filmmaker whose name itself is a USP of a film. His adaptation to change reflects in the running time of his recent films.
