A duty conscious man Sivakumar was working even on May Day as he had to deliver pressure cookers to customers in Allasandra in Karnataka. Since his son Puneerth studying in the fifth standard was on leave he too accompanied his dad. Unfortunately, the 35 year old Sivakumar had a massive heart attack while driving and died at the wheels but Puneerth with his quick thinking steered the vehicle to safety and averted a major mishap which could have claimed many more lives.

Only after that Puneerth realized that his dad had passed away and was crying inconsolably when the area people came to the spot. Sivakumar is survived by his wife Munirathnamma and another son Narasimharaju studying in the first standard. Relatives have stated to the press that the deceased man was hardworking and straightforward and focussed only on his job and his family but destiny took him away from them.
