The Congress-JDS coalition government might fall any time, reports analyzing the latest political developments say. As many as 8 Cong MLAs and 3 JDS MLAs have called it quits even as CM HD Kumaraswamy is in the US.
"Once these resignations are accepted, the coalition government will have a close shave with losing the majority," a commentator says. Three more MLAs resigning will bring the government down.
Some reports, which are yet to be confirmed, say that not 11 but 14 MLAs have decided to resign.
To take stock of the situation, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara and prominent Congress leader DK Shivakumar have launched an emergency meeting.
