The Delhi High Court Thursday granted the request of actress Karisma Kapoor and her estranged husband Sanjay Kapur for more time to settle their marital dispute out of court.

The couple needs more time to tighten the loose ends to ensure an abiding solution in the interest of their six-month-old daughter Samaira, they told the Delhi High Court through their counsel.

Heeding the advice by Justice Mukul Mudgal of the Delhi High Court last month, the couple through their respective lawyers have initiated talks in the interest of their child.

On Thursday, counsel for both parties informed the court that the talks were on the right track. They expressed hope that if given more time, the couple would be able to reach a settlement.

Justice Mudgal allowed their joint request and adjourned to Sep 23 the hearing of the petition of Sanjay Kapur, challenging the issuance of a passport to his daughter by the Regional Passport Office, Mumbai, on an application by Karisma without his consent.
