Kareena does not know who is Suriya

Last week it was reported in some sections of Media that Bollywood actress Kareen Kapoor has been roped in to play a important role in Suriya’s upcoming film Anjaan, directed by N.Lingusamy. Kareena Kapoor has denied this as rumour and while doing so she has stirred a controversy by asking ‘who is Suriya?’

Kareena had reportedly a said she has never heard of Suriya or director Lingusamy.

If what is being reported about Kareena’s reply is true, it will be really hard to digest the fact. Though Suriya mainly acts in Tamil films he has a good amount of fan following across the country and many of his films have done well at overseas market. Even in North India his Tamil films have done good business and one of his blockbuster film Ghajini had been remade into Hindi with the same title and Suriya was replaced by Aamir Khan in the Bollywood version. Suriya himself has acted in a Bollywood film Raktha Charithra directed by Ram Gopal Varma.

Meanwhile Kareen has clarified that she will never act in a film that is made in a language that she does not know. She also recalled rejecting an offer from critically acclaimed director Rituparna Gosh to star in a Bengali film just because she does not know the language.
