Popular star Ranbir Kapoor is known for playing likebale characters in coming of age movies but in his upcoming film 'Shamshera', he'll be seen portraying a bandit. This will be first out an out action role for Ranbir and his fans are super excited to see him in this new avatar. In a recent media interaction, 'Shamshera' director Karan Malhotra talked about Ranbir's casting in the film.

"His casting makes Shamshera more exciting. It's a combination that nobody imagined and that idea itself makes this project very exciting," Karan said according to a recent report in Pinkvilla.

Talking about how well Ranbir had pulled off his character, Karan said, "I don't think his performance can be rated, it's so good. Rating system will just limit his talent. He has really owned upto this genre and audiences will see how strong and commanding he is in this role. This can happen only when you are a good actor."

Also starring Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, 'Shamshera'is set to release theatrically on 22nd of July.
