It was reported a few days ago that filmmaker Karan Johar is planning to make a light hearted comedy drama titled 'Prem Kahani' as his next project. The reports also suggested that he has approached 'Gully Boy' lead pair Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt for starring roles and they've agreed as well. However, the reports turned out to be entirely false. Apparently, Karan Johar is too busy with optimising the production costs of 'Brahmastra' that he doesn't have time for a new project on his hands.

A source close to the filmmaker told Yahoo!Style, "Karan is not looking at directing any project at the moment. His focus at the moment is on seeing the long-delayed Brahmastra to its completion. All his efforts are going into minimizing the production costs as Brahmastra has gone way over-budget."

If anything, Karan's next project will most likely be the period drama 'Takht' which is on the backburner currently. The film is rumored to star Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal and Anil Kapoor and makers are considering the possibility to develop it as a web series.
