Karan Johar's 'Brothers' to arrive in July end, next year

It's official... the release date of Dharma Productions' next venture Brothers' has been confirmed. Initially slated to hit the screens on 2nd October 2015, the film will be releasing on July 31st, 2015.

Co-presented by Lionsgate and Endemol India, Brothers' is directed by Karan Malhotra and stars Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jackie Shroff.

Confirming the development, the film's lead hero Sidharth Malhotra tweeted thus, "Hey guys thought il tell u that #Brothers will now release 31st of July 2015."

Incidentally an upcoming production of Akshay Kumar was slated to release on 31st July 2015; whereas Karan Johar was keen for Brothers' to release on this date. The change of plans happened after Johar requested Akshay to shift his movie to the October 2 weekend. And the Khiladi' graciously agreed to do so. For the records, Akshay and KJo will be working together for the first time in 'Brothers', the remake of 'Warriors'.
