From his directing debut with "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," Karan Johar has been good friends with Kajol. Karan sent a moving homage to Kajol on Instagram on August 5, her 50th birthday.
He wrote, “The warmest hug on planet earth… to the extent that you may need an MRI post it!!!! The love… the immense love that very few can express, share or give to their loved ones …. That 1000 watt smile and that infectious laugh…:.how can you describe the energy of Kajol without feeling 5000 shades of love …. From the first time she met me ( laughed loudly at what I was wearing ) and till today … I meet her and feel rejuvenated and so loved… the one person that hasn’t changed one bit and never will! Love you Kads … to every planet and back! May this decade be beyond golden!”
Karan oversaw Kajol on "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham," and "My Name is Khan." For Aditya Chopra's directing debut, "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," he also served as associate director and costume designer. Karan also created costumes for movies such as "Dil To Pagal Hai," "Duplicate," "Main Hoon Na," "Veer-Zaara," "Om Shanti Om." Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, his most recent directing effort was "Rocky Aur Ranii Ki Prem Kahaani."
Beginning her acting career with "Bekhudi" in 1992, Kajol became well-known with hits like "Baazigar" and "Karan Arjun" before her hugely popular "DDLJ" starring Shah Rukh Khan. She most recently showed up in "Lust Stories 2." Among Kajol's forthcoming films are "Maharagni," "Sarzameen," "Do Patti," and "Maa."
