Director Mani Ratnam`s romantic-comedy entertainer Ok Bangaram (Ok Kadhal Kanmani in Tamil) is going to be remade in Bollywood. Ace filmmaker Karan Johar is set to bankroll this project under Dharma Productions banner. Shaad Ali, a protégé of Mani Ratnam is going to direct this remake which is going feature Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.

“Honoured to collaborate with Mani Ratnam on the recreation of his labour of love....directed by Shaad Ali,” writes Karan on his twitter page.

Interestingly, Shaad Ali has earlier directed Saathiya, the Hindi remake of Sakhi. Ok Bangaram is a fresh take on modern day relationships. AR Rahman has been roped in to score the music for this film, too.
