Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar will be working together for the first time in 'Brothers', but it seems like they share a good bond. According to our sources, the filmmaker wanted the date for the release of one of his films on 31st July as the shoot would be over before the scheduled time. But realized that Akshay already has that date for the release of his home production film. That`s when he decided to have a word with Akshay, to move his film to the October 2 weekend.

Confirming the same, Karan Johar was quoted, "The team Brothers is truly forging ahead. The pace and energy of the shoot has been incredible. We have actually decided to prep one our release to July 31st. Ashvini (Yardi) and Akshay have graciously given us that date and we have given them our previous date of October 2nd. In days of delays and strictly professional dealings this situation is truly a fraternity feature and validates the fact that strong relationships can exist even today."
