Ever since Kartik Aaryan got fired from Dharma Productions film 'Dostana 2' there have been several rumors and speculations about the whole affair. It was initially believed that Kartik was having date issues and was unable to allote filming time to the project which didn't go well with Karan Johar. Later, it was reported that Kartik demanded a price hike after settling on a lower number at the time of negotiations.

However, now we have a new theory about the incident. This one suggests that the Kartik wanted Janhvi Kapoor out of the film and having to chose between his leading lady and the leading man, Karan made the decision to keep Jahnvi on board and fired Kartik. According to TOI, Kartik and Janhvi, who were good friends, had a fallout in January after which the actress cut all ties with Kartik.

The fallout was bad for Kartik that he wanted the whole film to be scrapped even after 60% of the filming was done.
