After producing a number of successful movies in past years, filmmaker Karan Johar is returning to director's chair with his upcoming project 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'. While talking about the film at a recent event, Karan shared that 'Rocky Aur Rani...' is quite similar to his 1998 romantic film 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hain'.
While speaking at Ideas of India Summit, Karan shared that the pandemic tempted him make movies which could make him feel like a young man again. He stated, "I did go through phases of evolution as a filmmaker. But right during the pandemic, I felt I just needed to make a movie that made me feel like I was 25 again."
Karan further added, "And when I was 25, the only movie I could think of or make was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, because it was like an accumulation of all the movies that I had grown up watching. It’s a homage to Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Sooraj Barjatya."
Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead, 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' will be a quintessential Bollywood flick with tonnes of drama, elaborate dance sequences and stuff like that.
