Filmmaker Karan Johar has announced his next film and the subject matter of this new film is quite different than his usual projects. The historical drama will be based on the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. The film directed by Karan Singh Tyagi will showcase the real life events that caused one of the biggest tragedies in the history of modern India.
The film will be based on the book 'The Case That Shook The Empire' by Raghu Palat. As of there have been no official announcement about the cast of the project.
Karan wrote on Twitter, "This film unravels the legendary courtroom battle that Sankaran Nair fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Sankaran Nair's bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth. The film is inspired from real life events and adapted from the book 'The Case That Shook The Empire' written by Raghu Palat (great=grandson of Sankaran Nair) and his wife, Pushpa Palat."
He also shared a photo of the cover page of the book on which the film is based.
