Tiranga TV, an English-language news channel promoted by senior Congressman and former Union Minister Kapil Sibal, is on the verge of closure if some reports are to be believed. Amidst this, the channel's 200 employees are demanding a 3-month pay before they are asked to resign.
On Monday night, more than 150 journalists reportedly sat down on a dharna at the channel's Tiranga TV, asking for their demands to be met. Sibal reportedly sent many bouncers to "intimidate" them.
As soon as the pics of the scene inside the Tiranga TV building became public, widespread condemnation of Sibal started on social media. The Editors Guild of India is yet to respond to the shocking development.
It has to be seen what Sibal will say regarding the bouncers issue. He and his wife have run out of defences, frankly speaking.
