Controversial rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West, who turned Ye, had his X account reinstated after making assurances to the platform’s owner, Elon Musk, that he would refrain from posting hateful and antisemitic content. West’s original Twitter account was suspended in December 2022 because of a post featuring a Nazi swastika within the Star of David, which led directly to Musk’s accusations of “incitement to violence”.
As for the Wall Street Journal, X restored West’s account following his commitment not to use the platform for harmful language. But Musk hasn’t tweeted publicly about the reinstatement. Mr. West, who had more than 31 million followers on X and Twitter, hasn’t posted anything fresh since his suspension eight months ago.
The rapper says that his antisemitic comments cost him about $2 billion in business deals, including Adidas cutting ties with him. His former wife Kim Kardashian discussed the troubles of dealing with his hateful statements on “The Kardashians” on Hulu recently.
In other news, Musk recently rebranded the social network X, which he acquired for $44 billion in October 2022. According to CEO Linda Yaccarino, this new X app is set to encompass various features like audio, video, messaging, payments, and banking. A bright “X” sign was also installed atop X’s San Francisco headquarters during the rebranding.
