'Kanteerava' Mounts

It was a breath taking beginning shot for ‘Kanteerava’ Kannada film on Friday morning at Kanteerava studios.

Dipped in yellow and red color tucked in flowers on him macho hero Vijay holding a specially made arm stand before the camera. That was frightening sight on sunny morning for the onlookers at the studios for which director Tushar Ranganath okayed the shot as Puneeth Rajakumar switched on the camera.

Vijay plays the title role ‘Kanteerava’ the tough role again with Shuba Punj and Rishika Singh. This is a remake of ‘Simhadri’ (Telugu film played by Jr NTR) that was a big block buster. Well known banner in Kannada cinema Ramu Enterprises is producing this film in grandeur as usual.

The film on the screen will open with an action scene that is combination of wrestling and martial art. Manipuri style martial art composer Sushilkumar is reaching Mysore where a huge set has been set up for the film at Chamundi Vihar indoor stadium.

Wrestlers from national level are dropping in for eight days schedule. Thriller Manju will be composing the stunts.

In the historical film ‘Ranadheera Kanteerava’ made in the early 60’s starring Dr Rajakumar was shown as a wrestler." So we are keeping wrestling in the film", says Vijay who is ready to put in all possible effort for magnificent style in action scenes. Chakri is scoring the music.

Keeravani original tunes are not kept in this film. Dasari Seenu is the cameraman. The shooting will be completed in Bangalore, Mysore and Kerala .

Rishika Singh the third generation of actress from Shanker Singh the reputed film maker family is playing the bubbly, talkative role. She is the daughter of versatile director SV Rajendra Singh Babu.

Shuba Punj playing counterpart to Vijay in the fourth film is a mentally retarded actress in the film. Director Tushar Ranganath in his second directorial venture, is making nativity changes to the film from the original Telugu film ‘Simhadri’.
