'Varaha Roopam' from 'Kantara' is composed by Ajaneesh B Lokesh, who has also sung it. The song, however, is accused of having been lifted from an album made by Kerala's Thaikkudam Bridge in 2015. 'Navarasam' is the title of the song that has allegedly been copied by the music director of 'Kantara'.

The news is that, following a lawsuit filed by Bridge, the Principal District and Session Court in Kerala's Kozhikode has ordered the makers of 'Kantara' to not use 'Varaha Roopam' any further. If they want to use the song, they would have to seek the prior permission of Bridge. Bridge is not ready to give them the required permissions.

"The court’s injunction also bars all the streaming platforms from playing or featuring the Kantara song without Thaikkudam Bridge's permission," reports Quint.

Meanwhile, the Hindi version of 'Kantara' has netted nearly Rs 30 Cr in India, while the Telugu version has grossed more than Rs 30 Cr. The Telugu and Tamil versions, as of Saturday, are showing on more than 850 screens in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.
