Tragedy at Chiefs Super Bowl Victory Parade: Gunfire Erupts, Mother of Two Killed

A dispute between individuals led to gunfire at a lively Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl celebration, leaving over 20 wounded and a mother of two dead, authorities reported Thursday.

The incident occurred in downtown Kansas City on Wednesday, with nearly a million attendees. Gunshots rang out around 2 p.m. near Union Station, injuring 22 people aged 8 to 47, with many under 16.

Three juveniles were detained by police, one later released. Investigations continue, with over 800 officers present.

Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a beloved radio host of ‘Taste of Tejano’ , was killed in the shooting.

Seven children treated at Children’s Mercy Hospital have been discharged. Nine of the eleven hospitalized children sustained gunshot wounds, with the youngest being six.

At University Health hospital, five gunshot victims have been released, with three in stable or improving condition. The first victim remains critical. Trey Filter, a Chiefs fan, helped subdue a suspect during the chaos.
