Kannappa: Prabhas is not Lord Shiva

Actor-producer Manchu Vishnu, president of the Movie Artists Association (MAA), has embarked on a massive production: an epic mythological fantasy drama titled "Kannappa." This ambitious project, filmed on a grand scale, features a plethora of renowned actors from various Indian film industries. Manchu Vishnu leads the cast in the titular role of Kannappa, an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. The film boasts a star-studded ensemble including Mohanlal, Prabhas, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Madhoo, Devaraj, Aishwarya Bhaskaran, Mukesh Rishi, Rahul Madhav, Kaushal Manda, Ragu Babu, Arpit Ranka, and Preity Mukundan.

Contrary to earlier rumors, Prabhas will not be portraying Lord Shiva. Instead, he will take on the role of Nandeeswara, a prominent figure in Hindu mythology. Prabhas reportedly allotted seven days for filming and chose this character over the role of Lord Shiva when initially offered. Bollywood star Akshay Kumar makes his Telugu debut in "Kannappa" as Lord Shiva. The film also features Anushka Shetty portraying Parvati Devi, Lord Shiva's wife.

The screenplay for "Kannappa" is written by Vishnu Manchu himself, based on a story by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, G Nageswara Reddy, Eshwar Reddy, and Thota Prasad. Mukesh Kumar Singh directs the film, with Sheldon Chau as the cinematographer and Anthony as the editor. The music is composed by Stephen Devassy and Mani Sharma. With its impressive cast, epic scale, and talented crew, "Kannappa" promises to be a landmark film in Indian cinema.
