Superstar Rajinikanth is expected to start a political party soon and some reports suggest that it will happen on his birthday the 12th of December this year. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is also very vocal in his criticisms of the central and state governments and has also stated that if necessary he will gather his cadre as he is already in politics.

In the neighbouring state Karnataka, Upendra known as the Real Star has started his own party and is contesting the state elections that are coming up in 2018. Actor-writer-director-producer Upendhra has stated that he entered the film industry as a gateway to politics and has welcomed people to join and support him as there is no need for money, caste and creed disparities in his fold. The superstar who also has featured in the Tamil film Sathyam` with Vishal has confidently stated that “It is only the people who will decide the fate of my party and not the existing vote bank politics,".
