Recently, a female journalist was patted on the cheek by Governor Banwarilal Purohit which stoked controversy. The governor expressed his apologies following which the journalist stated she ‘was not convinced’ however. Many have been registering their support to journalist in social media as well.
All hell broke loose when S.Ve.Shekher a BJP leader and a film personality had to condemn the female journalist with insentive post in his social page in addition to saying that the governor must wash his hands with phenyl. Shekher, though has removed the post from his page, has been receiving flak from all corners for his behaviour.
Meanwhile DMK’s Kanimozhi has stated that his statements were disgusting and should be subject to condemnation.
She also further criticized how Shekher removed his post later and demanded that action be taken on him. She added that failing to do so will only prove that BJP stand by his opinions.
Here are her tweets:
BJP member SVe.Shekar’s FB post on women in media is disgusting and deserves condemnation in strongest possible terms. His defence that he shared some one else’s FB post is a facade. Shekar’s FB post shows a despicable mindset.

Posting something derogatory & deleting it subsequently has become a habit among BJP leaders. Unless BJP high command takes firm action against https://t.co/C7zsSthUD9.Shekar it can only be construed that the BJP high command endorses these views.

Terming these as ‘personal opinion’ & distancing themselves, while allowing him to continue in BJP is nothing but a charade. I express my solidarity with all women journalists.
