Recent reports have revealed that Bollywood actor Bobby Deol is on board to play the antagonist in 'Thalapathy 69'. Deol, who seems to have put up stunning performances in Ranbir Kapoorâs 'Animal' and Suriyaâs 'Kanguva', is expected to bring a powerful presence as Vijayâs on-screen rival. Earlier rumours suggested that Simran and Samantha would be the female leads, but the latest reports hint that Pooja Hegde is set to reunite with Vijay for this project after 'Beast'.

Production is rumoured to kick off on October 3rd, with set work already underway. Rockstar composer Anirudh Ravichander is set to helm the music for this highly-anticipated venture.
