Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has hit out at the violent protesters who are trying to intimidate the Narendra Modi government on the Citizenship Amendment Act by resorting to arsoning, rioting, etc. Speaking at a film event, the 'Manikarnika' and 'Thalaivi' actress said that those who don't even pay taxes are destroying public property.
"When you protest, the first thing that is important is that you don't turn violent. In our population, only 3-4% people pay tax. Others are actually dependent on them. So, who gives you the right to burn buses, trains and to create ruckus in the country?" Kangana said.
For saying this, she has been trolled by sections of those who are against the new citizenship law. It's true that everyone pays taxes (indirect taxes, that is) and it's not just 4% (paying direct taxes) who are important. But Kangana must be appreciated for being one of the few celebs to call out the violent protests going on in the country.
