Remembering the Queen of Jhansi, Rani Laksmi Bai, who was named Manikarnika on her 160th death anniversary today, the dynamic actress Kangana Ranaut had unveiled her first official look and also paid a tribute to the heroine of the first war of Indian freedom. She was not only a fierce warrior, but also one of the leading figures of the war in 1857.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ is about the life of Laxmibai played by Kangana Ranaut. Helmed by Telugu director Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi (Krish), the film also stars Ankita Lokhande, Sonu Sood, Atul Kulkarni, Jisshu Sengupta and Nihar Pandya in the lead roles.The movie was initially supposed to be released on April 27, 2018. But it got postponed and the new release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
