The Mumbai police have registered an FIR against Kangana Ranaut's bodyguard Kumar Hegde in a rape case. "A case has been registered against a man named Kumar Hegde under sections 376 and 377 IPC. Prima facie, they had a live-in relationship and a break-up," Senior Police Inspector Bharat Gaikwad of DN Nagar Police Station told IANS.

The case was filed by a 30-year-old beautician. The victim and the accused knew each other for over 8 years. The accused promised to marry her last year. With the hope to get married to him, the victim accepted his request to be in a live-in relationship. However, the accused then started forcibly establishing a physical relationship on multiple occasions.

Also, the accused borrowed 50,000 rupees from her saying that his mother was unwell and he had to leave for his hometown in April and since that time is unreachable. It was only after she came in contact with her mother, she got to know he was getting married to someone else. The mother, as the victim mentioned, asked her to stay away from her son and not force him to marry.

After a medical examination and statement by the victim, a case has been registered against Hegde at DN Nagar Police station on Wednesday(May 19) night. The case is currently under investigation.
