Director AL Vijay who had last directed Devi 2 starring Tamannaah and Prabhudeva is now making the movie Thalaivi, which is the biopic of actress and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa.

Thalaivi has Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalithaa and also stars Arvind Swami as MGR, besides Prakashraj, and the movie produced by Vibri media will release on June 26. Now it has been revealed that actress Poorna has joined the cast of Thalaivi.

Confirming this, Poorna had tweeted "Delighted to announce that I am now officially part of Thalaivi Movie, directed by @DirectorALVijay Sir. It's truly a wonderful opportunity to be associated with the biopic of the Iron Lady J Jayalalitha ma'am and to work alongside #KanganaRenaut, @thearvindswami, @prakashraaj".
