The cold war between Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu is well known. It started when Kangana's sister called Taapsee 'a cheap copy of Kangana'. Ever since then, Kangana has directed mean and unnecessary comments towards the actress while Taapsee has always replied in subtle and classy way. There has been a new development in this fued. While accepting the Best Actress Filmfare award for her performance in 'Thappad', Taapsee Pannu praised all her fellow nominees which included Kangana as well.

She said, "Thank you so much Kangana for pushing the boundaries. The benchmark of your performances just keeps going higher every year." A fan of Kangana shared a clip of Taapsee making the above statement to which Kangana replied, "Thank you @taapsee well deserved Vimal elaichi filmfare award…. no one deserves it more than you.”

This was a subtle jab at Taapsee as Kangana believes such awards are stupid cause of their phoniness and endorsement deals. Meanwhile Kangana also won her fourth National Award for her performances in Panga and Manikarnika.
